The world of Wyrmspan is enriched with a wide variety of new dragons and previously unseen caves , profoundly expanding the game's strategic possibilities. Young dragons , still little more than hatchlings, enter the academy, and it will be up to you to train them , investing resources and using special actions to accompany their growth. When they reach maturity, these dragons will become attached to their breeder and will reward you generously . Furthermore, young dragons tend to group together, allowing you to gain combined points if you manage to develop them together.

The expansion also introduces new Objective tiles and Dragon Guilds , which add additional avenues for scoring and differentiating strategies. At the heart of the new features is the new Countaround board , which offers even greater control over the flow of the game: when you decide to pass and end the round, you can choose which income to collect , making the timing of your decisions even more crucial.
