Meanwhile, Malta sleeps in the middle of the sea, inhabited by a handful of people who live mostly from fishing. But deep in Malta, a mystery is eagerly guarded by some of the island's inhabitants. A building lives in symbiosis with the tide, appearing and disappearing with the rhythm of the moon.

Because of this peculiarity, the Black Rose desires it, but at the moment other forces are watching over it.
Alice has arrived from Milan, with her shadowy passenger, sent by the Black Rose to learn the secrets of the building. But waiting for her is Alhazred, an ancient guardian, a writer and researcher, immortalized by his madness and his symbiosis with the place.
