Between Two Cities – Essential Edition is a tile-picking and placement game where you will be challenged to design two cities and get the highest score possible… but with a special challenge!

Each player builds not one, but two cities: one with the neighbor on the left and one with the neighbor on the right. To win, you will have to balance your efforts between both, because in the end the score of the city with the lowest result will count!

The game is played over three rounds, during which cities will take shape in a 5×5 grid. In each round, you will draw a certain number of tiles: you will choose two and pass the rest. Once revealed, you will decide with each city partner where to place them: one tile will go in one city, the other in the other.

The first tile must be placed on a free space in the initial landscape; the subsequent ones must be adjacent to an existing one. Warning: you cannot build on spaces occupied by natural elements!

The tiles represent different types of buildings – industries, shops, parks, clubs, offices, houses and public facilities – each with its own scoring system. For example, parks are more profitable if they are connected to each other, while clubs vary in score based on their variety.

This Essential Edition includes both the base game and the Capitals expansion, making it the definitive edition for any tabletop city planner!

As per Stonemaier Games tradition, the Automa rulebook is also included, for playing in solo mode.
