In 1135, upon the sudden death of Henry I of England, the throne was left without a male heir. Empress Matilda, the sovereign's daughter, claimed her right to succession, but Stephen of Blois, supported by his brother, the Bishop of Winchester, acted quickly and was crowned king. Matilda's supporters did not accept the usurpation, and England plunged into a long and bloody civil war, known to history as "The Anarchy", a period of chaos, sieges, and power struggles that lasted eighteen years.

In Anarchia, an intense strategic management board game, players take on the role of English nobles loyal to King Stephen, aiming to consolidate their dominion in the midst of the civil war. Over five rounds, you will need to build and develop your territory, defend your castle from attacks by Angevin armies, and organize sieges against Matilda's strongholds, using handmade siege weapons and careful planning.

Victory depends on the ability to accumulate Courage, Loyalty, Influence, and Power, while keeping the dangerous Discontent under control.
